1. I am unable to have my own Purple WoW Day, can I just make a donation?
Yes of course. You can make an online donation or call 0207 772 6400.
2. Will I receive an acknowledgment when I have paid the donation?
Yes, we will send a thank you letter and certificate to everyone that takes part and sends in a donation. Please make sure that you send your reply form back.
3. Will I get a certificate that I can put up at work?
Yes, we will send you a Purple WoW Day certificate that you can put up in a prominent position at your place of work.
4. Where does the money go?
Wellbeing of Women funds medical research and training into all aspects of reproductive health. In 2007, we supported 30 research projects and invested over £1 million in research and training projects in reproductive health.
5. What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid was introduced by the Government in April 2000 to allow charities to reclaim the basic rate of tax on donations - large and small, regular and one-off - made by a UK taxpayer. If you are a UK taxpayer then the amount that you donate could be increased by almost a third at no extra cost to you. So for every £2 donation our supporters make for Purple WoW Day we can get another from HM Revenue and Customs making a total of £2.56.
6. What is matched giving?
Most companies will support their employee’s charity of choice by offering to match, pound for pound, the funds raised. Please ask your company as it’s a fantastic way to boast your fundraising efforts and helps Wellbeing of Women fund more research.
7. How will I find out how much money was raised in 2008?
The website will be updated on a regular basis with the amount raised to date.
